Cancer Perspectives by John Ruhland, ND
Please note: We are a Naturopathic Clinic in Washington State; while treating cancer It’s now thought that 50 percent of all Americas will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime. This is the likely outcome of climate change, pollution, and “conventional” farm methods, which use pesticides. To gain a greater understanding of cancer, there are several essential books on holistic treatment. These books are highly recommended. Some of these are still in print, but all are available through inter-library loan.
In dealing with cancer, it is helpful to have the guidance of a physician or other person who knows holistic treatments in order to see the big picture, and keep the treatment on track. It is possible to train your physician if she is willing to study these texts. Most naturopathic practitioners treating people with chronic illnesses, such as cancer, seek to create balance in the body. They treat individual people, not the cancer diagnosis. Tumors are a result of an imbalanced condition in the body. When the imbalance is corrected, the tumor is no longer needed by the body, so it may either be walled off by the body, or it disappears. Unfortunately, conventional, allopathic chemical treatments have been known to damage the body, making the body more unbalanced. By the time a person has developed advanced cancer, their body is already weakened. Holistic practitioners offer a chance to create balance, and healing, using pro-biotic methods and medicines.
